Public schools belong to the entire community and funding for capital improvements is generated through voter-approved bond measures.
It is essential that community members help develop our long-term capital facilities plan to reflect the values and priorities of the community.
The Community Facilities Oversight for Capital Utilization and Sustainability (FOCUS) Committee will serve as a community-led citizens' committee that shall study the capital facilities needs of the district, review data, and develop recommendations designed to meet the needs of ESD students, families, and staff over the next 20 years.
The committee will submit findings and recommendations to the superintendent and Enumclaw School District Board of Directors.
Meeting dates and frequency will be determined by the committee as stated in board policy, however, the district recommendation is one meeting per month for one year to study facilities needs, review data, and present their recommendations.
Please complete and submit the form linked below if you would like to volunteer to participate in the committee.
The School Board of Directors will select and appoint volunteers as follows:
Two members from each city, Two members from community organizations, Two members from school unions, Three community members based on experience and the Board's judgment of the individual's potential contribution to the accomplishment of the committee's task, and One high school student.
The remaining ten members will be community volunteers. Volunteers will be drawn from the pool of applicants and appointed based on geographic service areas in our district to ensure balanced representation.
